I have been shopping at Ulta for quite some time. After racking up points on my Rewards Card the cashier let me know that I had enough points for a "free facial." I took up the offer and booked my facial for the upcoming weekend. The weekend swings around and I get into the store, letting the woman at the front know that I was interested the free facial which I planned on using my Rewards Cards points on. No problem. I was sent to the back where the salon is located and then informed the woman who books appointments that I planned on using my Rewards Card for a free facial. No problem. I also let the woman who was doing the facial know that I was interested in using my Rewards Card for a free facial and *again* no problem.
Immediately after the services were provided, *that's* when I was informed that I had been duped. The woman who did the facial said that I could not use my Rewards Card on the weekends, to which the other employees who I had talked to earlier agreed. I was stunned, why after the number of times that I mentioned I was interested in a FREE facial did no one announce that I could not use that card?

I went immediately to speak to a manager about how a handful of her employers sat there silently and misinformed me on their "free facial" right up until the end, after the services had been provided.
She began sticking up for her employees, basically stating that I shouldn't have fallen for it. That I should have known that I was being duped by her workers. Being afraid to storm right out (as I was 17 at the time and was naive) I went to the front to pay the stinking bill and didn't return to that business for quite some time. When I got to the front desk to pay, they began pressing for me to pay a tip for their 'excellent' service. I was shocked. I forked over the cash and $80.00 I had been scammed by Ulta. Much like their other customers.

Months later, I finally returned to Ulta. The woman at the front desk who originally offered this "free facial" must have not remembered me as she used the EXACT same line "Oh! Looks like you are eligible for a free facial, would you like to book one?"
