Ultimate Power Sales ripoff. Door to door scam claiming to be charity fundraiser Sugar Hill Georgia

A young man claiming to be my neighbor from a couple of streets over came to the door. He said he was the member of a baseball club that had just won the national championship but that unfortunately, not all the team members could afford the transportation costs. He asked for a donation that I gave.

But he must have gotten his scam stories mixed up because he then told me that some of the funds would be donated to the charity or school of my choice.

I should've become suspicious, but I didn't want to be rude to a neighbor. I told him I wanted to designate my son's elementary school to receive the money, but he didn't know the name or location of the elementary school, even though it was only a couple of streets down. He also had to ask me my zipcode and did not know the name of the TOWN we were in.

I had a bad feeling and should've asked for the check back, but he was quite big and muscular and I was home alone. I did not want to antagonize him. So after he left, I did an internet search and found all these complaints. I then called the bank and paid $18 to stop payment on a $20 check. I'd rather pay the fee to my bank than see that money go to these rip-off artists. BEWARE!!!
