united auto credit are ruthless. if i had a chance to do it again i would. they also harrass me on the day the payment is due. they called me on the 23rd and told me i had a payment due that day by (amy). i told her i had mailed the payment the day before and she told me i had to go to western union or my car would be repoed the next day. one day late. i then asked to speak to her supervisor and she gave me an employee named patrick and said he was the supervisor. i later found out he was not the supervisor. i then called back and got their main office phone number in california. talked to a supervisor there. she gave me some phone numbers. but eventually got called by the real supervisor of the sarasota office. we talked and really did not get anywhere. but she was much nicer than amy. i have had many run ins with amy and patrick. once i was in the hospital loosing my baby back in july and patrick harrsssed my there. did not care. these people need to be put out of business

#3 Consumer Suggestion

Amy, your payment must be RECIEVED on or before the due date.

Amy,

Although the UACC rep who posted here is a jerk, he/she is partially right.

You must educate yourself on the terms and conditions in your contract that you signed. You do have a copy of it right? I hope so.

With these types of companies, there is no grace period, and none is required by law. They can legally repo your car on the day after the payment was due. This is what they hope for. They want to repo your car and sell it again, and get the deficiency judgement against you for the loss they claim to incur.

You should NEVER deal with a company like this. Save money and pay cash to a private party for a cheap used car, or ride the bus while you save up, etc.

Mailing a payment on the due date is not a valid excuse. You MUST mail the payment early enough so they can recieve it PRIOR to the due date. This is clearly spelled out in your contract.

If you don't want the phone calls, change your number to an unlisted one, and never call them from it. If you don't want your car repo'ed, keep it in a gargae, or move to an address they don't have.

Keep in mind that these people do not want to hear excuses like being in the hospital, etc. They are subprime lenders dealing soley with people who have proven that they don't pay their bills. Not that it makes it right, but is why you get that treatment.

A contract is a contract and excuses do not matter. They either want the payment or the car. That's it. There is nothing in between.

Just don't do business with parasites like them.

educate yourself

any customer who cries fowl against uacc is obviously a dead beat.
each branch deals with between 4-12 million worth of accounts out of that it is always the same 5% of customers past due every month
you give them due date changes ..deferments ..it doesnt matter they still go past due
same customers who complain about these practices of calling them for payment(how dare we collect money you owe!!!) are the same ones who keep messing up their credit causing them to come to us @ 24.99% interest.all these people have to do is make 1 -1 1/2 years of payments on time and they could better their credit so they could re-finance with another company and they can't even do that
.
these people claim we don't work with them but they are the same ones who have recieved 3-4 deferments of payments and still go past due.if you cant afford it ..you just can't afford it..not uacc fault you spend beyond your means.

please stop griping on some webpage and make payments on time for everyone's sake... our sake so that we dont have to make calls we dont want to make and your sake so that you don't receive the calls
if your due date doesnt work request a due date change and stop making excuses

The same thing happened to us. We gave the car back to them. We are now being sued. They were cruel to us in a hard time in our lives. We just wanted our car. Never again.
