Universal Fidelity, LP Received bill for $148 for fees on dvds I did NOT rent from Hollywood Video in 2009! Houston, Texas

I received a collection notice dated Jan. 9, 2012 from Universal Fidelity, LP on behalf of the "Legal Successor of Hollywood Video" stating that I owed them $147.68. They listed movies that I supposedly rented between April 2009 and January 1, 2010.

The problem is that I did not rent them and mine is the only name on the account. If my children rented them, they did so without my knowledge or permission and Hollywood Video should never have allowed them to rent anything since their names were not on the account.

One strange thing is that this bill shows 8 dvd's were rented on the same day.....none of which I have ever seen.

I have always taken care of any late fees immediately. If there were any outstanding fees on my account, Hollywood Video should have notified me before they went out of business.

After all of the complaints I have read about Universal Fidelity, LP, I am very reluctant to pay them any amount of money for anything that took them nearly three years to notify me I "owe."
