On August 9, 2008, I recieve a message on my CELL phone from a man with a strong Indian accent. The voicemail was as such: "Hello, this is Alex Howard calling on behalf of US National Bank about ant important legal matter, PLEASE do not disregard this message because it is very time sensitive. You MUST return this call to 818-336-9384 (and then he repeats the #) in a timely manner, but if you choose not to sir...then the only thing I am able to do is wish you Good Luck." Very ominous!! So naturally, I return the call to the given phone number.
Alex Howard answers the phone very lasily and asks "how may I help you?" I proceeded to tell him that they called and left a message for me. He asked for my name and phone number and then placed me on hold. When he returned, he verified my name, phone number, address, AND asked me to verify the last of my social...AFTER he said the last four. After I verified the information I asked what this was all about and why did he have my information and he proceeded to tell me that all my questions would be answered shortly, and that he was going to transfer me to the Suit Breifing Manager "Mark Red" (this is a very poor alias now that I look back on it). I was transferred to Mark (another thick indian accent), who again verified my personal info. He then started briefing me that "US National Bank" is filing a suit against me for $1,495.00 based on taking a payday loan that had not been repaid. DUMFOUNDED, I asked him when this transaction was made and to what account. He read my bank account and the bank and stated that the transfer was made on Dec.6, 2007. He told me that on Monday the 11th of August, a legal officer will be coming to my place of residence to discuss this matter with me. I stated that I never applied for a Payday loan and also stated that Payday loans have been illegal in Georgia since 1955. He told me that if I "have accurate documentation this charge will be dropped, have a nice day...click", he hung up before I could question him further. I checked my accounts and no such transfer had ever been made. So, I called Mom, and I explained the situation to her. I conference the number into our conversation, and Alex Howard answers the phone, I then asked to be transferred to Mark Red. After being transferred to Mark, he answers back rudely when I told him who I was, "I have already briefed you!! What do you want?! I am trying to watch a movie!!". My mother went off and asked to be transferred to a manager.
After all was said and done, I did some research and saw that they are pulling scams on people the exact same way. NOW I have to close my account because they have my information. I am researching them now to see whatever I can dig up. I want to drive this "company/Scam" into the ground!!!
A warning to all of you, be highly wary of where and who you distribute information too, you are susceptible to this as well.

US National Bank Scammers Strike Again!!

August 12, 2008, they have tried contacting me again. The same message as the first was left but by a "Alex Brown" instead. There is also a new number he gave me to correspond to, 818-530-1886. Shortly after he called my cell phone, HE CALLED MY JOB!! I answered my office phone and it was another Indian man, asking me to verify the last four of my SSN (which he said aloud, rather than having me tell him). I then told him that I filed a report and that we are on to them, after which he hung up.
They are steadily changing names to throw people off and the pattern is that every day they scam, they alternate changing first and last names. If this is happening to you, immediately google the attorney general for your city/state and contact them. They will be able to help you with the phone calls and get ALL OF THEIR VICTIMS a step closer to shutting them down. This group effort everyone, let's get them!
