The US Post Office is Ripping people off by charging us for Priority shipping and your packages do not arrive on time. I ship packages almost every day through USPS and they have been charging me for priority service and majority of my packages do not arrive on the date they should. Therefore they are charging me for priority service and my packages are arriving as if I sent them without using Priority.

On the most recent occurrence a customer contacted me about a package that should have arrived on a Wednesday but the customer is contacting me on Friday. I sent the package with 2 day shipping and have a receipt showing this and expected delivery date. After the customer contacted me I called to try to check on it and was left on hold for over 2 hours never spoke with anyone just a recording. So I decided to go up to the post office.

When I arrived I asked for the manager for an explanation and he told me its not guaranteed. Well I would think they need to stop calling it 2 day shipping and charging extra for these packages when they arrive at the same time as normal delivery.

I asked the manager I should have just sent it with regular shipping and it probably have arrived at the same time and he says that could be true. So if this is the case why was I charged extra for 2 day shipping. All the manager could do is say there is nothing I can do about it and I cannot be refunded the difference.

The manager I spoke with was Justin Tolbert and there was a very rude employee named Mark at this location that told me I didn’t pay for 2 day shipping. When my receipt clearly shows I did. I will not be using USPS for anything at all because after this happened I went back and checked my records and I have at least 7 other times that this has happened to me in a one month period.

I suggest that they start calling it something other than 2 day shipping

Someone Please look into this as there are Millions of people being cheated the same way each day.

For each of the 7 packages I paid on average 10 dollars more each than I should have. I can probably look at older record and find plenty more instances of this happening. I know they are having financial problems but this is not the way to make up for it by cheat Americans out of dollar every day.

This will be the last money they steal from me because I will be using other methods of shipping. I also am closing a PO Box I have had for over 10 years because of this. Please be aware because they don't mind cheating you and will not offer any refund or help in anyway. They need to remove the US from there name is this is how they operate that is not the American way to cheat anyone you can.

Any lawyers, media etc that would like proof of this please contact me

I will NEVER use USPS again. Ever.

The United States Post Office, just like any other government run agency or company, is a USELESS JOKE. They are a misleading ripoff, and have been for quite some time. Maybe it's just me, but when I pay for a specific service, I expect that service to be carried out to the letter (no pun intended), or I get my money refunded immediately. I don't think that is a unreasonable expectation. The Post Office doesn't seem to see things that way, and therefore should not be in business at all, in my opinion. At least we have UPS and FedEx.

Thanks for the info

Thanks for the info but I will be using UPS from now on. I have been using them for larger packages and they always arrive when expected. US Postal service is a government institution and should not be doing this. Just another way the government is ripping people off. I shipped several packages using UPS today and I'm sure they will get to my customer on time. I have been spending thousands of dollars with them and my customers are getting frustrated because of it. I can allow that to continue. It was not much more for 2 day shipping at UPS. I will eat the cost for happy customers. They have lost a good customer because of this and the poor customer service they provide.

You could experience the same from other carriers

You will see what I mean that you will experience the similar situation with any carriers you are going use besides USPS. My company has been using FedEx and they are the same -- no guarantee even overnight! My company used to use UPS and they also had the same issue. Therefore, often times you paid for the service but the carrier cannot guarantee but can only give you hope. If they can make it happen, good for you; otherwise, too bad. It is just pure business that expects consumers to forgive. If you cannot forgive or can no longer tolerate, you could take them to a small claim court to wake them up; however, the case may likely be thrown away unless you have a strong case...

No where...

AUTHOR: Robert - ()

No where on their site did I ever see the term "2 day shipping" or that it was "guaranted delivery".  Even stated it yourself by saying the date they give you was an "expected delivery date".  In fact in several areas of their site it says that it should arrive in 1-3 days but that even depends on where it is being shipped from and where it is being shipped to.

Also if you are a regular shipper and had only 7 packages in a month that were after 2 days, how many of those were truly after their estimated date?  Then in the beginning of the report you stated that "a majority" of your packages were late.  Since you ship almost every day..seems like your math may be a bit of.

If you want a guaranteed service you MUST use their overnight service or another shippers service such as UPS or FedEx.

Oh..and one thing you may be in for a shock...these services will cost more because they are guaranteed.
