It all started in September of 2002. A telemarketer called me and said I was entered into a contest to win money and I qualified to receive 5 magazines for only $3.36 a week, that is as long as I still have a Visa card. But since I was such a good listener I would recieve 6 magazines of my choice for the same price for a span of 4 yrs a total of 698.88.

I was supposed to receive a welcome package and a free watch within 90 days. They immediately started charging my checking account for 58.24 and no pakcage or magazines had arrived.

It's October and they have charged another 58.24 and still nothing in the mail from them. I called wanting to cancel my subscription and they had said I verbally agreed and they had me on tape. I agrued that I was not told there was no way out of the subscription. In fact I asked the telemarketer what if I wasn't satisfied many times over and all he would say is, "you will be." I asked to hear the tape and they said they would have to call me back in three days to a week since the tape was archived.

I declined and we made an agreement that I wouldn't pay until I recived my magazines. They apologized and promised I would get them soon. November comes and goes no magazines. December comes and I don't even want the magazines anymore, I have lost my job, my college scholarship, and I find out I am pregnant. I am strapped for money.

I call them asking to cancel and get my money back all they can do for me is cut my subscription to 3yrs instead of 4 and minimize my monthly payment since they have already payed the magazines up front. So now I owe 524.16 in all instead of 698.88 and I haven't seen a magazine.

I report them to the BBB of Pheonix and I guess nothing was done. Finally in January I start seeing magazines and an invoice for the amount of 29.12. I am finally happy. I change my magazines here and there and recieve decent (not good)service for the time being so I manage to pay the whole amount with my tax return. So I have paid in full a total of $524.16. And I have seen the last of my magazines this last Jan. of 2004. I still recieve one of my magazines every month, but for how much longer.

I have been calling for 2 weeks strait and like others noticed the difference in the times of operation as well as the fact there is now an answering service. I have left many messages and out of things to do.

I have figured it out and they owe me $394.44 or 2 more years of all six of my magazines. Someone please help me I was royally screwed! I feel like such a sucker. I wish we could find them and sue them for our losses and the stress they caused. If anyone breaks through to USA Magazine Exchange please post your sucess.

STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... CLICK HERE to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business? Click here to understand more of what consumers and business alike are saying about the BBB. You decide. ..Remember. The BBB membership is not earned, it's paid for!
