USAA has the worst customer service available, no not the first ones who answer the phone but the Executive Resolution Center people, they are rude, have told me I am going to listen to them, I have been told not to have attitude, that it stinks to be, etc.   What?  I can be rude, I am the customer and usually I am pretty pleasant, but yes when someone steals $10k out of our account, I might a little fowl mouth.  But, I have never heard a call center clerk become rude or aggressive towards me, wow.  I am so upset with my USAA experiences latley, that I am at a loss for words.  I will say if you value security, USAA does not have it!!!!!  We've been breached and so have several other people I talked to.   USAA will not investigate, as I have been told by the ERC people, "We are not the police"  then what do your investigators do?????  I thought that when I opened an account, security was free....apparrently not, since USAA informs me every time i call about the fraudulent checks and withdraws, that this probably wouldn't have happened if I had Plus checking.  If I could throw something thru the phone, I would!!!    Really, so the standard account comes with what?  A moustrap to put on your checkbook?  Frustrating is the word that pops into my head when I hear USAA, okay, so some other words do too,but frustrating is a internet friendly word.  I am so tired of investigating my account's fraud, but I qoute USAA "You are responsible until you prove yourself innocent"  whoa, okay.  Even though I thought in this country you were innocent until pronounced guilty, but apparently in USAA's eyes, its different.   So now I have tha undaunting task of proving myself innocent, Because WE DIDN'T have anything to do with it!!!

So please, if you do still use USAA, please make sure you change your user name and password and that none of it is your e-mail stuff ( I read that cyber thieves hack your e-mail then try it on everything, so if its your bank log-in stuff they'll have it)  Make sure you check your account daily, and get a phone password, so that you are not saying your user name out loud to verify yourself......But you are welcome, since USAA didn't do it, the checks that were used fraudulently in my account, I reported to the National Check Fraud Agency, so that the person who got me can not get you with that same series of checks.....hopefully.....that is if USAA has updated their information...hmmmm..

USAA

I did file a police report with the GA state police and my local police.  I filed with the IC3, the FBI Cyber crimes, I called the businesses where the transactions took place, they are sending footage to USAA and the police, I had my phone checked, had my computer checked, got the phone records where USAA said they called us to verify the checks, no phone calls from them, I called my cell provider, still no phone calls placed to the number USAA verified with me they had called.  Filed the checks with the National Fraud Agency so that someone else doesn't get hurt by the rest of that book of checks.  I called Paypal where the person tried to have the account verified, they gave me the name adn address of the person that registered the account, called USAA and the police to give them the information. Now, since I'm guessing you work for or are another customer of USAA, what more can I do to assist?  I've submitted so many reports that I;m guessing the number is in the twenties.  Now, how can the bank tell me within a few hours that it was proven that I must have done something to enable this.  The person also has a copy of the ATM card, making withdraws of just under $3000k, try and guess what the limit per day is for an atm pos purchase......$3000.00, I didn't even know that.  Why would it be so high, and why would that not send soemthing to check when the average deposit is 450.00 but suddenly in three days $10, 000, in personal checks are deposited.  The account was 45 days old, max.  And on top of everything else, when we've called the reps have said things like" It happens once, shame on you, happens twice shame on us, happens a third time, it'll never happen again."  What? That was just an example of the outstanding and professional customer service during all this.

Your "RipOff" is lacking in quite a few details that could go along way in making more sense of this.

You don't say how this fraud occured.  That is was it only by Check, or were there Debits and ACH Transfers.  Was it one 10,000 item or was it several smaller items.  How long did it take you before you noticed the fraud, that is did you notice it the same day it happened or didn't notice it until you were about 6 months later..or somewhere in between.  Do you have any idea of who did it?

Now, just a few other comments...

"We are not the police"  then what do your investigators do?????  I thought that when I opened an account, security was free

- They are correct they are NOT the police.  They do not have the same authority to do things that law enforcement does.  So did you file a Police Report?  If you haven't why not?

I reported to the National Check Fraud Agency

- I had never heard of this company before and it turns out they are a PRIVATE organization.  They seem to only add your information to some database.  As for forwarding your check information. It appears to go to some company called Check Information Systems, which interestingly enough has the same address as this "organization".   If you read where this information goes it only goes to local law enforcement agencies, they do not send it to any banks or retail companies.

Their "copyright" only goes to 2011, their media coverage ends in 1999, they have what many would be considered a "dated" site.

Now, with all of this I hope that they are legitimate.  The point here is that you need to be careful about who you give out personal information to.  But also that I would not hold much hope out that this site will be any sort of miracle worker or quite frankly anything would come of it..reguardless of what bank you are with.
