USENEXT has scammed me off about 100 USD. I signed up for a 14 day trial of a software which was advertised as free. At the final stage, USENEXT requested 1EURO 'transaction fee'. USENEXT did this on purpose to obtain credit card and paypal information, however at the time I thought it was simple an innocent 'transaction fee'.
I received 2 membership emails, 1 confirmation email regarding my 1 EURO payment, none of which said anything about further payment after the trial period. A few days ago i received an email saying, "your account will be updated to 30GB!" It said nothing about payment.
THEN SUDDENLY another email saying: a 80 EURO BILL!! That is about 100+ USD!
I called USENEXT support and explained my dire situation, however I was responded with defensive remarks, as if they already knew what i was about to say and was prepared with pre-determined responses: "This is all legal..." "Cannot refund you..." "you did not read our disclaimer..." "did you check our policy"
I responded saying, you didn't send me any warnings about this 100 USD bill. USENEXT replied, "When you signed up for it, it was written there". Shocked by this, I checked their site, I didn't see any warnings when i signed up. I checked it again and realised that I had been scammed.
The disclaimer was only ONE sentence in plain black and white, in fine print. There were other COLOURED, BOLDED TEXT, PICTURES, advertising on this page. In addition to this, I have a 27 inch iMAC, which made this vague warning almost invisible:
" All accounts come with a 14 days free trial period. If you do not cancel your account within these 14 days you will automatically charged the price of the plan 30+."
On this page, there was no other mention or warning about being charged 100USD after the 14 Day Trail, nothing at all about payments or pricing. Anyone can see, that this website was specifically designed to scam money from people.
This was the ONLY warning i got from the day i signed up to the day I was charged $100+ USD! No other warnings. NO EMAILS OR PHONE CALLS, NOTHING.
When i asked about why USENEXT didn't send me any warnings so I can cancel this 'subscription'. USENEXT replied, 'this is all legal, if you have any problems go to the law..' in the rough German accent. I wasn't sure what USENEXT was implying, but i think they wanted me to find a lawyer, as a taunt, because they know I am powerless to do anything.
Please do not let this immoral practice continue. I propose a formal investigation into USENEXT I was fortunate to have paid through paypal, imaging others who had money stolen from them, and they literally could not do anything about it.
I am very upset. I cannot believe there are people in the world that would do this.

Dear Richard,
First of all, we are sorry to hear that you are having problems with our service.
We would like to explain how the sign-up process works in order to clarify any misunderstandings. When signing up for our service you enter the free trial period which lasts for 14 days. As mentioned several times during this process as well as in the TOS (which have to be accepted by the customer) you have to cancel our service during the trial period if you do not want your membership to be converted into a paid contract. Furthermore we send an email a couple of days before the trial period ends to remind our customers about this fact.
However, since we highly value Customer Satisfaction and are willing to make our service as easy and transparent as possible we would like to ask you to contact as by sending an email explaining your issue to the following address: mediarelations@aviteo.de. We will then try to find an adequate solution for you.
All the best,
Your UseNeXT Team
