Spent 8 plus hours on "tour" of Grand Mayan properites after which when escorted downstairs to leave a gentleman asked our guide if he told us about returned properties. Our guide said no at which time the friendly man asked us to sit down so he could tell us about a returned property that was returned for non-payment by a woman in Argentina. Price was just under $5000.  After  being told we could stay at the Grand Mayan or Mayan Palace in a two bedroom two bath unit two weeks each year we decided to purchase. The salesman told us not to tell anyone else about this deal because he could not offer it to anyone else.Had we known this was a purchase for a vacation club we would never have purchased. We already belong to a vacation club.  We stayed in a two bed two bath grand mayan unit for 799.99 per week using our own vacation club.  When we went to book 2 weeks using Vacation Priviilges we were told they could book us in two hotel rooms for $831 each. Why in the world would we join another vacation club???  We still thought that this was part of Grand Mayan properties (Vidante).  We did not realize this was a seperate company until we went to book our next vacation. We feel this was a true case of fraud, bait & switch. Don't know what our legal recourse is but checking into that now.  Beware of Vacation Privileges, Vida Lifestyles and Grand Mayan.  Grand Mayan is wonderful place to stay but do not go on any of their tours. It looks like Grand Mayan and Vacation Privileges are partners. Our salesman was Mr. Senen Eros Ortiz Ham. My sister and I split the cost of this purchase.
