I had the front differential fluids changed on my 2004 Escalade based on the recommendation of the Valvoline Instant Oil Change located at 49 North Central Avenue, Elmsford, NY 10523 (914) 347-4440.

After driving 1 week i started noticing a clicking sound. As another week passed it was louder and louder and the whole car would shake as i came to a stop.

I had no idea what it was so i took it to a mechanic. He looked at it and thought it might be a wheel bearing. He changed it but the sound was still there.

He investigated further and determined there was little or almost no Differential fluid. The differential was pretty much destroyed. I called Valvoline and told them the story. The Manager Andrew was very helpful in helping and advising me to put the claim through.

A week later I talked to Andrew Pasquerlli 800-606-5823. He told me that since the Mechanic "touched" the vehicle. Valvoline is not liable. I tried to explain the Sound was there before and after I took it to the mechanic. How would I know it was a differential issue?

Basically Andrew Pasquerelli was a jerk and washed their hands and left me with a car that I can't drive or afford to pay for the damages. $3200+ in parts 4-5 hours Labor.

If you go to a sushi joint and have dinner, do you go to burger king the next day because your tummy hurts?

Always go the the shop that you had the last work on your car done. Or at least tell them that something is off. No one knows what the last guy did. So it only makes sense to back track to the most likely source.

If you had gone to the tech who blamed the quick lube for changing your front diff fluid in the first place. And after you heard a noise. Anyone at my quick lube would not have touched your front diff and would have sent you right back there.

It's funny to me that he couldn't tell the difference between a wheel bearing and a "blown up diff." Or at the VERY least didnt check your fluid first.

Mechanics

so the mechanic changed a bearing, charged you for it, without even checking the fluid in your differentials? i hope you told him you recently had the diff fluid replaced beforehand. The mechanic seems pretty incompetent or shady.
