I initially signed on as a student with wachovia...toally free checking...no minimum balance...June 2012 I noticed money missing from my account...called the bank...I was told that i had a minimum of 7 debit card transaction required to avoid this monthly fee...I was not aware of this....I complied. this morning I get an email stating that I had used my overdraft protection....

I logged onto my account and there is the $10.00 monthly fee they charged me...I called the banker and now he tells me that it is 10 transactions required on my debit card instead of 7...I informed him that I was told it was 7...he thought it was funny but I explained to him that if I was told 7 transactions do you honestly think I would inquire about my missing $10.00 if I was to blame for this.

I asked to speak to a supervisor...he then informs me that even if I talk to a supervisor I would noy be getting my $10.00 back.

I informed him that I was through with wells fargo bank...they are getting away with robbing the small persons that do business with them. $10.00 is a lot when you're not working and tryning to hold on until things get better.

Shame on you wells fargo...the God I serve is not asleep...the ways of the wicked shall be destroyed. AMEN.

And Also.....

Let me add to Robert's comments...Whenever you have a problem like this forget about calling them on the phone.  Physically go into the bank and talk to a human, in person.  It is much easier to "get rid" of a customer on the phone than in person.

Standard...

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, February 02, 2013

A few years ago the Government put in new regulations on the banks that in effect cut off a major source of income to them.  As a result they had to make up this loss in different ways.   So now since they can not go after the very small percentage of people who can't manage their account, they have to spread the cost out over everybody.  Before these changes Free Checking was very common and almost standard, after these changes Free Checking is becoming harder to find and when you do find it you will have to meet several qualifications.    Over time these qualifications continue to get stricter.  So in your case while it is 10 transactions..don't be surprised that that would soon not go to 15 or even 20 per month.

This goes for just about every bank, and now even Credit Unions are starting to charge maintenance fees.    So before you are truly done with WF, before you open another account up at a different bank be sure to ask them what their requirements to avoid these maintenance fees.  While you are at it, ask them to show you in writing where it says they can never change these terms...I can guarantee you that you will not find a single bank that has it in their terms, that their terms will never change.

As for the change in terms from WF.  Yes you were notified.  Most likely they sent you either an e-mail or an actual letter with the new terms sheet.  Yes..all of that "fine print" is very important.

You can send a copy of your Ripoff Report to the CEO of Wells Fargo so he knows what is happening.

If you 'Google' this- WHO CONTROLS THE UNITED STATES ECONOMY BY MAJORITY 2010, you can watch that four minute video and see a picture of the Wells Fargo CEO. I believe that he appears near the end of that 4 minute video.

You can also do a Google search and get the mailing address and e-mail address to Wells Fargo's corporate headquarters.

Good luck to you, and make sure to spread your Ripoff Report all over the web at sites like Twitter and Facebook!
