My son and I each had a contract for services with Western Dental. In July I informed them we were moving across the country to the East Coast as I had been relocated by my job and would have to continue our treatment there. I asked Western Dental to revamp our contracts to reflect the services rendered to that point and let me know the new balance due to close the accounts. They said fine they would. They also said we should chose to "fly back across the country for the remainder of our treatments" which I informed them would be impossible.

August came and I received our western dental bills. They had not been revamped to reflect the balance due for services rendered but instead still showed the full amount for the full treatments yet to be performed.

 I called them and was sent from the billing dept. to the corporate headquarters back to the billing dept who said the only person who can change the contract is the onsite office manager at the location of service. So I called her who put me on hold and transfered me back to the billing dept.

 The Office Manager, once i was able to talk to her said our "cases were in an audit review" at corportate. I was told to NOT PAY the current bill as the next bill would reflect the amount due. Sept. came and the bill had yet to be adjusted. My husband called but they said as I was the signer on the contract only I could cancel it. So I called and they said the account was being reviewed.. still. Again I was instructed to "Just not pay the bill, it would all be fixed soon"

After not paying the bill, my accounts are now with a 3rd party collection agency for the full amounts and Western Dental says to not contact them any more as they are not involved in 3rd party collection processes. Western Dental did advice me to try and bargin with the 3rd party collectors to delete the late fees. The fact is we would owe less to western dental, maybe a couple hundred dollars on each account if they accounts had been modified to services rendered. Now I have $5000.00 showing up on my credit report owed to a collection agency.

Western Dental gave us the run around to stall for time and have our accounts go to collections instead of doing what they should have which was to modify our accounts to services rendered and allowed us to pay those amounts due.

Shame on you Western Dental.
