We bought our timeshare in Orlando, Fl., in 2003 we paid the mortgage in full within two years and always paid maintenance and taxes on time. We decided to deposit our weeks so that we could take a three week trip to Europe. When we decided to take our trip we learn that our 2006 and 2007 weeks were deposited with westgate and we could not use them outside the country. We decided to pay in advance maintenance and taxes for 2008 and 2009 so that we could deposit with interval international and take our trip. 1455.00 later and no trip, not only no trip to Europe after being told if we paid no problem but we could not book any resort in this country so that we could use our 2006 and 2007 deposit. We called for Las Vegas, California, Branson, Tenn, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and even where we purchase our unit they want us to wait three days to check in.
By then we had had enough after spending thousands and thousands of dollars we have yet been able to use our property. We were there in August and demanded to speak to their legal counsel the person that presented the legal doumentation for us to sign, first no knew who or what to do. I guess the manager or supervisor decided the person had left for the day it was 2:00pm, however when we call the person would not be in until after 1:00pm
All I wanted was the papers to transfer the deed to my son so that he could get me out of this nightmare. They told us everything had to be faxed to our NJ number. We called and called finally I called the attorney listed on the paperwork, twice I spoke with the person that promised to-mail the paperwork she never did this the attorneys office. I call Oscelo County Clerks Office they were very helpful however our accountant told us we would have to go through an attorney to process a quit claim deed in FL.
Next week we are going there once again to confront them and to demand what they promised if we get ne results we will fill a claim with the attorney general and the BBB. We have paid more than twenty thousand dollars and never use our property.
You tell me who is getting screwed!!!

What are you kidding me? We lie when purchasing? Your an employee you know exactly what your company is up to. I have been an owner since 1993, paid in full, maintenance paid by Jan 4th every year. I go through hell exchanging my weeks, but usually after calling numerous times I manage to find a unit available. Now all of a sudden my week is not Red - I am told that is an Interval coding not Westgate. Your salesman told me Red, not Interval, and he said the week doesn't matter because you can exchange and come any time of the year.
I dropped Interval the 2nd year I owned because I always went to Westgate and therefore did not need to pay two companies. Now I'm being told I need to pay a Seasonal upgrade fee of $500.00. New fee imposed by Westgate to further take money from their owners. Plus those low maintenence fee's that have gone up every year are now $700.00 - give me a break, Westgate needs to be investigated and if they are they will be shut down so fast. When asked I tell people to skip Westgate and rent a condo, same cost in the end.

Upon reading the ridiculous complaints, it only makes me want to pull my hair out, at the thought of how many thousands of dollars this wonderful company spends touring and deeding unqualified, unemployed, and uneducated tourists. This is a beatiful product, that works, if you have any common sense and understanding of the common concept of booking in advance, depositing your week, paying on time, and telling the truth about your finances, so that the correct price and product is presented to you. You have the rest of your life to upgrade.
The company will cater the product to meet your present needs; there is no reason to lie about your income and vacation habits, just to show off, and then purchase more than you can use or handle. And for the idiot that thought that they should be able to exchange more weeks than they have purchased; what do you want me to say. Go back to Kindergarten.
I am both an employee and an owner. I use my week every single year, along with 7 getaway weeks from Interval. When I compare the prices of the identical resorts on expedia, priceline, orbits, and travel agencies; they charge 3-10 times more per week, than interval does. So what do you want? Free travel? Do you think that you are the only owner, and you can just call the day before your holiday?
Maybe some of you should stick with $29 motels. That's obviously your scene.
