Winston Financial Management ripoff dream vacation and $50,000 prize a scam for Americans by Canada St. Regina Saskatchewan

I got the letter too and called the company. I talked to a lady named Karen Simmons. She said to cash the initial check ($1,895.15), go to a Moneygram facility, and send it to Ontario to cover the cost of taxes on the prize. After trying to find the company online and finding them only on Ripoff Report, I decided to do a little more detective work. So I called the bank who was supposedly their sponsor, and they told me that the check was not good and they've been after this company for months. I was advised to do the only thing I could do - turn the letter in to the Post Office as mail fraud. I then called back and talked to the same lady, and she seemed genuinely shocked to hear that the company was a fraud, stating that they'd been in business for ten years with no complaints. She said this even when I told her I had contacted the bank. I remained civil and told her that I hoped she got out of this business, because if she really didn't know, she seemed like a nice girl and it would be a shame to keep working for a company that helped to break down Canadian/American relations. I'm very sad about this... I've never been on a cruise, I've always wanted to see the Caribbean, and even that $1,800 would ensure a place for me and my son to live for another couple months had it been real. Has anyone else followed through with the instructions they were given, and if so, what happened?
