Wizard of Claws sent me a sick puppy on January 5, 2005. She is finally home after fighting pneumonia for weeks and still is coughing. She finally was strong enough to take cultures and we're waiting for the results. She is on several different antibiotics and other medications.
Vet bills are over $7,000.00!! She's been to our regular vet, internal medicine specialist vet and the emergency vet. She spent almost two weeks in the hospital with IV's, etc. The doctors are also looking into this matter.
We contacted Wizard of Claws and sent them one invoice from our regular vet. They told us to call back when the puppy was well. Our bill was for not only our puppy, but the cremation charge for our old dog. This is what they paid. Makes ya wonder?? Of course we did not cash the check, this would show we agree.
We have gotten together all of our bills, receipts, etc. and will be sending them to Wizard of Claws tomorrow via fax and hard copies in the mail. We'll see then how fast a check comes.
We have also joined the multiple plantiffs lawsuit taking place in Florida against them. We are not the first and sadly not the last to get ripped off by their claims, etc.
We are writing to anyone and everyone who will listen and hopefully we'll get some help with this cause. Please check out STOPWIZARDOFCLAWS. Lots of good information on who to write to and answers to some questions.
Thanks for having this website. I feel so much better with somewhere to post my complaint of unethical, deceitful and cruel business practices.

WOC SELLS SICK ANIMALS

I also bought a sick animal that was taken to Hometown Animal Hospital (their vets) they tols she was fine. She developed kennel cough & had worms falling out of her. They also told me she would be no more then 8 pounds. I have just received a copy of the auction where my pug was bought & it states her parents are both 16 pounds. There is no was you can get a 8 pound pug from 16 pound parents. She is 11 months old and weights 17 pounds. I also found out after I bought her that there is no such thing as a tiny tou pug. That is what they sold her as.

Excuse Me Gilda

Excuse me Gilda, that health certificate you refer to, the one the airlines will not allow a puppy to fly without, was that signed and certified by your Dr. Bellows? The same Dr. Bellows that seems to be be missing serious health problems other vets are picking up on immediately? Food for thought.

we paid your vet bills

The puppy was sent with a current Health Certificate stating that the puppy was well and was not sick. The airlines won't accept a puppy without a health certificate, it's against the law. In the customer's possession the puppy had a cold and the client has failed to update their statements.
Wizard of Claws reimbursed them for the full price of the puppy and a little more to help the client with the vet bills. This client agreed that he was over charged by his veterinarian - we have never heard of such a high veterinarian bill.
Per the Pet Lemon law the seller is liable up to the price of the puppy and we even gave them shipping and other fees on top of the price of the puppy. We credited their card so we took care of this client immediately. We are really sorry about what happened to the puppy but we did everything that we could for our client.
The law is there to protect the consumer as well as the seller, the Pet Law is there to make sure that the seller does not get taken advantage of by veterinarians who may run the bills to extremities.
The client should contact the veterinarian for the high bills. Wizard of Claws followed the Pet Lemon Law and even went further to assist our customer who mean so much to us.

File A Police Report
AUTHOR: C.L. - (U.S.A.)

These are all criminal offenses so you need to contact the Pembroke Pines Police Department and file a police report. In your case, they can probably be charged with animal cruelty, for putting a sick puppy on a plane as well as selling a sick dog. The State Attorney cannot file charges against anyone without the police doing an investigation first. Good luck.
