I purchased membership in Shell Resorts in 2003.  The points I purchased were equal to a 1 bedroom 1 week per year during high season.  My annual dues are now over $870 per year.  A few years ago Wyndham bought Shell and around that time the point structure changed.  Now my points are worth 65% of a studio.  Changing from 2500 points for a one bdrm during high season to 4550 is painfully significant, unfair and unethical.   I HIGHLY recommend avoiding business with Shell and Wyndham Resorts. I gave my membership back.  Not enough value to sell.  They wouldn't even let me donate 2 years of unused points to their Vacations for Vets program.

I also have a membership with Vacation International.  My VI points have the same value as when I purchased them in 1992.  VI is a much more reputable company.
