Xcel Energy Ripoff Unfair and Untimely Billing Denver Colorado

Xcel Energy is the sole provider of public service utilities in Colorado; they are a monopoly or relatively close to being one.

My sister-in-law recently informed me that Xcel Energy sent her a bill that was unusually high. She explained that she called customer service and was given the run-around. The representative informed her that Xcel made certain adjustments for her previous bills.

According statutes, billing demands must be timely. I called the State of Colorado about a similar encounter about three months ago...Talking about Sleeping with the Enemy; the State's Dept of Regulatory Agencies stated that a payment plan could be established until the balances are paid. My wife has a friend who experienced the same type of untimely billing.

Sometime later, the regulatory agencies department sent a service survey on their performance on resolving our issues. This was enough to use expletives like...*#&! But I removed all thoughts of this because it may jeopardize further action against Xcel Energy.

So, my suggestion is to pay the bill or risk having your services disconnected. Try looking for another utility company but you probably would not find one.

Alternately, get enough people like myself and file a Class-Action lawsuit against Xcel Energy. You probably won't get rich from winning but someone has to seriously address this issue of fair and timely billing; you are obligated to pay your bills in a reasonable manner.

If anyone out there truly has an Attorney interested in such a case please notify me through this Rip-Off Report or a new complaint. If you don't stand-up for your rightsTHEN WHO WOULD???
