My girlfriend and I left very appropriate, but unfavorable ads, for The Pacific at Mission Bay (a Pacific Living Properties property). Within two days those ads were removed from Yelp. This was coincidentally immediatly after I discussed the Yelp ad with the property management. In spite of the fact that my review exposed truths about this property which PLP would gladly pay to have burried, Yelp proudly advertizes that "There’s no amount of money a business can pay to manipulate their reviews or rating and Yelp doesn’t skew things in favor of advertisers or against businesses that don’t". I have every confidence that this is exactly what happened and I strongly suspect that this is not the first time for this property. The yelp ads for The Pacific at Mission Bay posted after 2/16/2016 have all suspiciously been expunged - they were all critical of The Pacific at Mission Bay.

I took a look at the Yelp Reviews and this place doesn't exactly come off as a 5-Star Resort. In fact the last review that you were so good at pointing out was on 2/16 was a 1-Star review. Funny how you left that little bit of information out of your post. Then if you look at the next to last review posted in 9/2015 do you know what it was...another 1-Star review.
Now, if you look at the section of reviews that Yelp does not currently recommend..
We use automated software to recommend the reviews we think will be the most helpful to the Yelp community based primarily on quality, reliability and the reviewer’s activity on Yelp. Advertisers get no special treatment.
On 3/12 there were 2 reviews..both reviews were updates from the original review of 3/6. I think even you would agree that is a bit of a coincidence..right? Especially for a company that look like on average it gets only about 1 review every month or two. It is very likely that this triggered something in the system to "not recommend" these reviews.
But then we look at the names, one female name and one male name. Based on this report you stated it was you and your girlfriend. So can we figure that these reports were written by the two of you?...Personally I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that it is. If that was the case, I would also bet that these reviews were written at about the same time and probably from the same location(perhaps even the same computer). Again, things like that are all things that are tracked. So yes if there are more simularities if you look at Yelp's statement about "reliability" yours brings up several "red flags". In addition, one of the reviews was the only review for that person, the other has only a total of 2. So again...it isn't like you are one of the top elite members who has hundreds of reviews.
Oh and before you go off on the "Well you work for...". Sorry, I do not now or have I ever worked for Yelp or even the apartment in question. I have no idea how Yelp defines a recommend review, nor do I actually even care. Everything I wrote was things I was able to find from the Yelp site in about a minute.
