ACT I responed to a ad on the radio for my child could audition for commercials, etc. Secauses New Jersey

I responded to an ad on the radio concerning an audition for commercials, Tv, etc for my child.  The person I spoke to gave me the address and instructions to bring 2 photos.  So we go to the audition.  We , about 50 of us, sat and listened to a presentation about ACT and what it would do for our children.  In reality it was advertising their acting school.  So far not a bad thing.  My daughter does the audition.  We were told to email them and they would call us back.  I was called back and told that my Daughter was being invited to attend the school based in Secauses NJ.  I was then told that I would have to pay the tuition upfront that afternoo.  The fees varied from $1950 to $6900 for 6 moths worth of classes, depending on how many classes you wanted.  I asked to be put on a payment plan, being a single mother and not having the $1950 available.  I was told there is no payment plan and the fee had to be paid in cash or by credit card.  I asked about the payment plan again and was told that they don't do payment plans because the child may drop out.  I took that as an insult.  First of all I am not going to assume that my child would dropout.  Also, if my child did drop out then they would not get the full tuition amount.

Apparently my child was good enough for them when they thought they were getting money and all of a sudden she wasn't good enough for them because I was unable to pay up front. They were not willing to work with me and told me that all private schools require full payment.  My Daughter attended a private school and we paid monthly.  Julliard has financial aid.

This is an abusive thing to do to children.  ACT lured us there and then shot us down.

I am very disappointed at the radio station as well, for not telling them to put more info out there for the listeners to hear. 

ACT needs to be investigated on how reliable they are and if they are actually legit.

All I requested was a payment plan.  I asked if I could pay on the day of each class and was told NO.
