Now I will admitt that two companies put in a draft payment before the designated day I told them to on Friday which is payday, so I will take that $38 each charge.
My paycheck of 695.00 hits ever morning at 12:00 am. Now Compass has three charges of 7.95, 4.07, and 24.00 that should have been taken out before the other two charges...
Not Compass, they hold the charges for four to five days and even when I have the money in there to cover the charge they still charge me NFS, saying that they go by the day it was posted, well if that was the case then the three smaller charges were posted four days prior to the charge and yet they push the other to drafts of 160 and 126 through before they put in the three previous charges thus causing me to pay five charges of NSF fee then they charge if you don't have the money to cover the NSF fee.
I bank with ACE from 2002 til September 2008 before I joined Compass and I never had a negative in my account. They purposely hold those charges and try to get you in the negative.
I don't have $152.00 to be paying Compass on a regular basis, they are a rip off. I wish I never banked with them. I am going to find a new bank that doesn't mess you over like that, and if anyone knows of one that don't do that then let me know please.

Unfortunately - They're All The Same

Monica, I'm not telling you not to switch banks. Just beware the standards they practice are pretty much universal. It sounds like part of the problem is that you seem to be relying on an online system to track what's in your account. That is your first problem.
Online balances are not for account holders to rely upon as a substitute for a check register. It is a tool for account holders to use when reconciling their check register. What you need to do is stop relying on anything online and go back to tracking your transactions via a written register.
The other thing I would do is to stop using a debit card. Your debit card is a way for the bank to maximize the manipulation of transactions, and that manipulation may cause your balance to overdraft when you think you're safe.
Utilize these two tips and you'll likely never have another problem. Best of luck to you.
