Direct Tv Informed me that they had local channels for this area, I live in Mississippi not New York. Cannot see local news or weather for this area. Danville, Virginia

I joined direct tv in the 03 or 04, wasn't to thrilled because they did not have local channels. was in formed that they were getting them soon. I live in Cleveland, Ms, all areas of the world have bad weather. I want to keep up with the storms and local news, so I got the local channels they did not come in the package that I purchased this is what I was informed of. But I was not being charged for them. Do the math... Had to upgrade to hd to get the local channel, pay extra for a hd box, got the hd box and the local channels, which are the following Fox New York, Nbc New York and Abc New York. Local to me means in the immediate area. Don't really know how far I am from New York, what do I need with their news and weather and I live in Cleveland Ms. How can I stay informed about the weather in my area when I have New York for my local stations. That was a lie and I have to pay the bill up until 2013 if I want to cancel. Our local weather comes on and stays on all night when the weather is bad to keep us informed of how far the storm or the tornado is.
