DIRECTV,INC. CHARGED EARLY CANCELLATION FEE THAT I WAS NOT TOLD ABOUT. EL SEGUNDO California

I had been with Directv for five years. In March the receiver broke and I called to ask the cost of replacement. I was told the cost would be $29.99 for the shipping. In May of this year we found alot cheaper service;my husband has been laid off for 22mos. so cost is very important. When I called to cancel they said there was a $320.00 early cancellation fee. I spoke with 2 sales people and a super and they all said I should have been told but the point I was trying to make is I wasn't told and too me this is fraud. I called the BBB and they tried to help but couldn't do much. They have 17,000 complaints against Directv. With every thing going digital in Feb of 2009,more people will be going with satilite and this fraud will continue. Hope this warning will help someone.
