I recently had an experiance with Dish Network as follows:
I own a rental property that employed a Dish Network account for about two years. I was happy with the service. On January 4th 2012 I terminated the account as my tenant requested an alternae service.
I returned all of the equipment as specified by Dish.
I had been happy with th past usage of Dish and inquired if Dish could be provided in my personal home on their promotional offers.
I called dish and was advised that I do not Qualify as I was a recent Dish subscriber.
I understood that these are the rules.
On January 17, 2012 I received a telephone call from a Dish representative inquiring about my interest in dish. I explained that I did make a request but "I did not qualify". The representative told me that he had authority and that "I do qualify" for installation on the new promotional plan.
I subsequently described my requirements as follows:
Install a Dish
Three HD TV's-Living room and two bedrooms
Request a DVR in the Living room with wireless acess to DVR
I own a HD Dish Receiver that can be used in the other bedroom.
A 200 channel package
He quoted me a price of $45.99 for the first year then $63.99 for the following year.
This include a movie page free for three months. Two year subscrption.
I agreed and scheduled an installation the next morning.
On January 18, 2012 the Dish Technician made the installation.
I find that the HD requirement in the Master bedroom requires another receiver.
I called DIsh an requested another HD receiver only to be denied.
I also learned that my cost would be $102/mon for the first year.
I spoke to a Mr. David Ortega (303) 942-8600 ex 81696
He told me that I can cancel the order at no cost. The TV service was turned off!
