i am having debt issues, who doesn't, unless you are a hedge fund manager...
so i read up on legal debt collection practices. they are not supposed to call you before 09:00 AM.
this morning at 08:45 i get a call from DCI.
the conversation goes something like this:
ME: hi, please don't call here before 09:00 AM, that is the law.
DCI: Don't tell me how to do my job
ME: am just saying that there is a law concerning these practices and you should abide it
DCI: maybe you should change your phone number
and so forth. the rudeness and lack of any human empathy is just incredible. i am sure there are hundreds of much worse experiences than mine, but i just wanted all of you to know what kind of scum you're dealing with. posting here a link with some really good advice from a former employee of DCI worth reading.

Actually, you troll, the FDCPA also says that the agency "may not call a consumer at a time and place they know is inconvenient for them", which, in English, a language you obviously do not speak, means that once he notified them he did not accept calls before 9 am, THEY HAD TO COMPLY!
That means contacting him at 8:45 when they knew that was inconvenient WAS BREAKING THE LAW!

If you actually did your research, you would see that the FDCPA allows for calling between 8am and 9pm your time zone.
805.A.1 Communication in connection with debt collection
-at any unusual time or place or a time or place known or which should be known to be inconvenient to the consumer. In the absence of knowledge of circumstances to the contrary, a debt collector shall assume that the convenient time for communicating with a consumer is after 8 oclock antimeridian and before 9 oclock postmeridian, local time at the consumers location;
