I was pulling my credit score information, as well as my husband's. I used a different credit reporting agency for my credit score without any issues. However, my husband did not want just a single FICO score, so I used Experian to obtain his credit information.

Upon going to the Experian website, a membership was advertised for $4.95 for your first month and $19.95 for subsequent months of membership. Additionally, this advertisement specifically targeted FICO score information. Due to wanting to stay updated on our credit situation, my husband and I thought this might be the best option.

My husband was able to see all 3 FICO scores from the major credit reporting agencies, but when we checked our bank account, not only were we charged the $4.95 for the first month (like we anticipated), we were also charged $49.95. This surprised us, as at no point were we informed about this additional charge, albeit the website is very vague in providing any information at all.

As a result, my husband spoke to someone in customer service for Experian. The woman seemed apathetic to our situation and did nothing to alleviate the additional unexpected cost. She did not even apologize for the lack of clarification of costs. All the woman stated was that the $49.95 was the charge for the FICO scores. My husband informed her that the website did not indicate this, that in fact, the website indicated otherwise.

I have already contacted my bank to dispute the extra charge and have cancelled the membership immediately after discovering it was not what it advertised. However, I have to wait until the charge clears before I am able to file an actual dispute.
