 On February 12, 2016, I was pulled over by a harris county constituents on Beltway 8 who informed me that I was prohibited from being on the toll road. I said why? The officer informed me that I owed over $14,000.00 in toll fines and I replied by saying no you mean $1,400.00, he then replied saying no ma'am you owe $14,000.00. I immediately thought there has to be something wrong. I received a ticket and he advised me to exit immediately or I would go to jail. Naturally, I got off the beltway worrying what was going on. The very next day I received a very large envelope with a stack of papers that was 1 1/2 inches thick. I started looking through these violations and saw that 95 percent of them are marked hctra tomball tollway northpointe mlp lane 10 or 2. I thought to myself that there is not even a toll sign there on either side of the freeway, so of course I called and got referred to a law firm, I called this law firm and the woman did not care about one word that I was telling her about this one particular exit. All she could say was I can have you pay half of your balance and let you pay the rest in payments. I started to cry because I don't have that kind of money laying around. I'm not rich and if I was I would not pay for this because there was no violations in this large amount. I told the young lady that I understood that we owe some of them but not for this large amount. She still not care and I got nowhere with her and ended the call. I run a business, I need my tags, on top of this I'm trying to get my drivers license straightened out, and I don't know who to turn to to stop this madness. It's ridiculous that I am being charged for a exit and entrance on highway 249 that is not marked nor states that it is a tool entrance or exit.
