I would also like to add that before going to this dealership to purchase this truck we got a very nice letter from Ford Marketing Department telling us that we had impeccible credit and they appreciated our business over the years. We have always owned Ford trucks and we financed the last 3 trucks that we bought new through Ford Credit. The letter is very deceiving and reminds you of when the big superstores used to advertise sales saying come on down and when you got there the amasing deals were gone. In the letter it tells us that we qualify for 4.9 % financing on a F 250 or F 350 truck of our choice and nowhere does it say rebates and incentives do not apply. Not even in the fine print. In fact there is a paragraph that states we may also get a loyalty bonus of up to 3000 and nothing whatsoever about losing rebates or incentives.

The letter is so misleading that every single person in the dealership agreed that we should get the rebates and the 4.9 % financing and Abe a sales manager went on and on about how they would love to honor it but needed Ford's approval first. He supposedly was on the phone for over an hour trying to get Ford to honor it. In the end he said if you get Ford to honor this we will write up a new contract. The next day I called Ford and they told me they had no record of this dealership calling them or trying to put the 4.9 % through. To make a long story short the dealership blamed Ford and Ford blamed the dealership. So far I have atleast 6 documented phone calls into Ford Marketing asking them where is the fine print in the letter stating rebates and incentives do not apply if you take the 4.9 % whats funny is this letter has been read by countless people and nowhere can they find anything in it stating rebates or 4.9 % financing. I have had people sit there with a magnifying glass reading this letter and they just shake their heads and say you know your right this letter is very lisleading. I actually had 2 people through Ford read the letter and say well yes you should have gotten the 4.9 % financing and kept the rebates. I had one lady tho that was taking her job in the loan department of Ford way to seriously. I faxed her the letter and after reading it she said well you know it's a well known fact that even though we told you that you had impeccible credit and you qualified for 4.9 % financing you can't take both the financing and rebates. I said show me in the letter where it says that and she said it doesn't but everyone knows that. I said and just how am I supposed to know that and she said go on the internet. I asked her to show me in the letter where it pointed me to the internet. She ended up yelling at me when I told her it was deceptive advertising to get us in the door. I told her about the bait and switch sales done years ago by the big box stores and she got very loud and wouldn't let me talk. I told her lady you need to take a lunch break.

Right now I am talking to Willie about the letter and he assures me that my complaints have gone to the higher ups and he calls me once a week to let me know this round of calls to them isn't being swept under the rug like the last phone calls I made. Of course the first time I faxed the letter to Ford it was August 19, 2008 and pretty soon it will be a month of the higher ups ignoring me. On Monday I will call again and start another documented ticket. I will send a copy of the letter to ripoffreport.com and please anyone that reads it please point out where it tells me I do not qualify for rebates and the 4.9 % financing. It doesn't tell me that I get all of the rebates but it doesn't tell me that I don't. In fact it does mention 3000 loyalty cash which I would think would qualify as a rebate of some sort. Ford marketing needs to make good on their appreciation of our business like they stated in the letter.

Why do we allow them to get away with this

AUTHOR: John - (U.S.A.)

Here is the letter stating that you may combine other offers with the 4.9 % and if you put your information in at fordcredit.com it tells you that you are able to get 0.9 % and atlease 5500.00 in rebates and incentives so don't tell me I should know that this isn't the way it works because the letter Ford sent me and their website tells me different.

Where have you been? For years and years the car manufacturers have had "4.9%", "0%", "2%" and so on "specials". You can either take the cheap financing or a rebate/incentive and you will pay FULL MSRP if you take the cheap financing. It is rarely in the small print but salesmen all know this. Car companies are not charities. Actually the 4.9% is rather high from Ford Credit. I've seen 2.9% from GM. I get 5% from my credit union PLUS any rebate or incentive. Stay away from Ford Credit, GMAC, etc and check with your credit union. Quit writing letters and crying over what is general knowledge to anyone who researches car deals. You letters will accomplish nothing. They should have told you that you have a choice -cheap financing or a rebate. They didn't and now you know. Put this terrible thing behind you and move on with your life.
