There was mold under the linoleum in the kitchen and in the bathroom. There was no railing on the stairway. However, the worst was the harassment which began the day I moved in more than 5 years ago and continues to this day. My little beagle, now 18 years old, was an approved pet. However from day 2, Morgan Properties called me daily and wrote threatening letters saying he barked while I was at work during the day. They ordered me to remove him. I refused, and wrote them a letter stating my intent to move out. Someone came into the townhouse (no forced entry) while I was out of town and stole some items. They threatened to charge me penalties if I moved out early, so I stayed until the end of the lease term, confirming in writing well in advance of the end of the year lease that I was going to move. They wrote to me and told me I could not move.

Then a few months after I did move, they claimed I owed them for 3 months' rent AFTER I MOVED OUT. They threatened me with legal action, but never actually took me to court. I have written to the Attorney General's Office who has tried to help, but Morgan Properties will not work with them or with me. They turned me, an elderly widow, over to collection, as well as my son who was in college when I lived there. Their collection agency claims we do not respond although we have sent them documentation repeatedly. The collection agency has illegally called me at work, and called at late hours at home.

There is a class action suit for rodent infestation against Morgan Properties in New York and another one in Maryland.

And they are business partner with America's biggest bailout--AIG.
