Pinnacle Credit Services - Nelson Watson & Associates, First Contact (Phone Call) ripoff Saint Louis Park Minnesota

I received a call this morning from an agent with Nelson Watson & Associates, claiming as their client Pinnacle Credit Services. The agent claimed (wrongly!)that I had had a cell phone with Unicel from Apr. 2002 to Feb. 2004, and left with a balance owed of almost $500. Over the past three and a half years, that alleged balance has grown to over $600 with fees and interest.

There are a few problems with these allegations:

I have never HAD a cell phone, other than a prepaid TrakFone.

Unicel doesn't serve my area. It doesn't even serve my STATE, where I have lived since 1980. (The nearest state served by Unicel is Oregon.)

I'll give Nelson Watson & Associates the benefit of the doubt and assume (for now) that they are victims of Pinnacle Credit Services, as well. I requested verification of the debt, and a copy of the original contract, and will proceed from there (I will also follow up my phone request in writing immediately).
