Signed up for a system while moving into my first house. The guy said it was a good deal for $50/mo, ONE keypad, ONE fob, and a FIVE year contract. (((competitor's name redacted))) gives $30/mo, TWO keypads, TWO fobs, TWO year contract - same internet monitoring and same wireless hookup for the alarm system.
Although Security Networks does not have a non-cancelable clause *anywhere* in their contract, they refuse to let me out - will not even allow me to pay a cancellation fee; nothing. Don't get locked into the same thing; shop around first and dont get sign a contract with anyone who wont let you terminate even though you have every right to.
sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company, ..plus, if you post a competitors name more than likely they will show up on search engines as a Rip-off! - - your comments on this policy are welcome. DID YOU READ THE CONTRACT ?

Had you...yes you read the contract you would see that it is a cancellable contract and that you can terminate the contract when ever you desire..The contract states that when you terminate early that you must pay the remaining balance as liquidated damages.. All that is written into the contract..Are you really going to take a "free" system and think you can cancel whenever you want.? Nothing in life is free and the reason you have a contract is because you didnt pay for anything and the investment gets paid back over the life of the contract..If you dont like contracts then you should pony up a few bucks upfront..everyone knows that contracts allow a person to get it now.. Its the same as a mortgage you get to move into a house before you even pay for it..but if you want to leave the house you have to get the balance paid off.. your alarm equipment has a value that need paid for..if you fell for the reps pitch saying he would pay for it then im sorry, your paying for it by signing a contract..So read your contract it explains the terms of cancellation very clearly..

Again - Read the contract - Again, non-cancel/non-terminate is *NO WHERE* in my contract.
They simply have decided it is non-cancelable. Not even for a termination fee. Irregardless of the fact that is it not anywhere in the agreement.

Security networks offers packages that range from 19.99 a month and 59.99 a month depending on the details of the package, there are way too many combinations between amount of free equipment vs purchased equipment and then the contract terms are 36-60 depending on many variables. I've represented every alarm company possible over the past 12 years and I see this complaint a lot for every company. I gaurantee the package you recieved for 50 a mo and 60 mo contract is not the same package the other company has qouted you on. Security networks offers every type of system from the newest technology which is more expensive and requires a longer committment to the oldest technology that offers the smallest commitment, security networks is a leader in the alarm industry and brings the best technology available at a very competitve price. So i agree with you to do your research but don't be fooled into thinking you could have a better deal because until the deal is done and you have a signed written contract with the other company you don't really know what they offer. Companies will give you a low qoute just to get you to talk with them, you should know this. You also have the responsibility to read the contract you sign and see what the terms are. The contract would have explained that there is no fee for wanting to cancel its all in writting and you should read it and if you don't It's your fault that you feel ripped off. Make sure you compare apples to apples and not apples to oranges because I guarantee the package you signed up for is extremely competitive as long as you compare the technology and the details of the package.
