April of 2012, I changed my cell phone plan with T-Mobile.  At the time I did not think anything of it.  I looked for a reason they were offering this plan at a lower rate and I could not find any unusual conditions, so I changed to the lower cost plan.

At the end of June, I wanted to change plans again, but this time I wanted to upgrade to a smart phone and a higher priced plan.  I was confident that my contract was up in June so I would get a better deal on a smart phone.

I went on line to see if I was eligible for an upgrade and found out that I was not and T-Mobile had extended my contract without my knowledge.  I went back to see if I had missed something on the page that I had changed plans.  They had now posted in bold letters that changing to the plan that I changed to would require a two year contract extension.  This notice had not been there when I changed plans.  I would not have changed plans if I had known about this condition.  I had changed plans previously without any contract extension.  The only time a contract extension was required was when I changed phones, and I was informed about that and accepted the condition at the time.

I talked to a representative and was essentially told that was the way it was and there was nothing that could be done.  I talked to a second representative and was told I could get a phone from a third party, but was subsequently denied an upgrade.

I was frustrated so I quit T-Mobile and signed on with a different provider.  T-Mobile would have retained my business if they had been less predatory in their business practices.  I had no problem with their phone service, but their unrelenting predatory business practices disgusted me.

Now they are threatening me by telling me they are sending my bogus cancellation fee to a collection agency.
