Calling All California RV Owners with Camping World Issues

I’m taking Camping World (Anderson, CA location) to Small Claims Court over a roof repair failure, misrepresented warranties, and repeated excuses to avoid accountability. I'm gathering stories from other California RV owners who’ve had similar problems.

My Story:

I bought a 2018 Coleman Lantern in July 2023. A month later, the roof peeled back. Camping World originally said the entire roof needed replacement, but when insurance denied the claim, they instead patched the damage—ignoring the real problem.

Since discovering severe dry rot, I’ve had two independent RV shops inspect it. Both concluded:

• All roof seals are intact—no signs of new water entry

• The dry rot existed before Camping World's 2023 repair

• A full replacement was warranted—not a patch

Camping World has changed their explanation multiple times:

1. First, they said they only repaired the front and the rot was in the back, so it wasn’t their issue.

2. Then, they blamed it on customer maintenance.

3. Now they say it was discovered 16 months after the repair, which is beyond the 1-year warranty.

Worse, I was sold $3,955 in warranties under the impression they offered full coverage. They didn’t cover the roof, the awning, or any of the other issues I later brought up—despite assurances during the sale.
