H&R Block
I have used various types of tax filing software over many years. I have used Turbo Tax, H&R Block, and a few others. Turbo Tax costs more than H&R Block for the same level of product. Turbo Tax has a superior UI, in short very nice! One year, I bought both to compare. The bottom line was they both had exactly the same numbers. So, saving a couple of bucks was for me. But regardless, I still oscillating between the two. I used H&R Block in tax year 2022 and am using it again in tax year 2023. So this year I put in enough information to get a taxable amount and the tax on that amount calculated. I put taxable income of $16,206 and H&R Block calculated a tax of $1,623, nothing was between these two lines. The calculation should be $16,206 x 10% = $1,621, a difference of $2. So what would happen if you had actual taxable income of $216,206? Would that be off by $2 every $16,206?
So for fun I guess, I spent two chat sessions with two different agents. The solution was I made a mistake in my calculation. Both agents offered me a chance to chat with a "tax pro". I asked was that free, the appointment is free. I declined of course.
I am now wondering of all the times I filed my return with H&R Block. But likewise, does Turbo Tax operate in this manner as well?
Anyone have thoughts on this?

How about the other elementary matters, things people learn in grade school? Placing g the dollar sign AFTER the digits; having zero conception of the correct using of words like then and than; to, too and two; and and an; so called educated TV people none of whom will pronounce the word temperature correctly! Let's not forget the DELIBERATE mispronouncing of certain words like ask, street, and all the rest. It's a sick society and sorry generation which very obviously is circling the drain!

That is not how tax is calculated. The correct way to do it is to use the tables IRS provides. Read the 1040 instructions. That's what H&R block does, and that is the correct tax amount for that income. Your way would underpay by $2, and the IRS would send you a nasty letter and a bill.
