Hughsnet Dont get this service rip off fees and terrible customer service and will not refund costs and has a huge fee to get out of the contract. Soquel California

I moved to where I needed satellite internet.  I did some research and picked Hughsnet.  It has the fastest speed and best price advertised.  

It got installed with-in a week.  

Right from the get go it was super slow.  It's up load and down load is what they advertise but the latency is pathetic I called them and they said I needed to get an extension booster for the modem and that the modem is the issue.  Still not working.  Emails taking up to five minutes.  All Video buffers.  Forget live TV.  I called again and they said that magically the antenna was not aligned.  So, they sent out a tech.  He gets here and checks it all out.  I give them the benefit of the doubt and test it again for a few weeks.  Finally, I give up and installed Starlink.  Everything it super-fast now.

So, I call Hughsnet for a refund.  They say sorry you have to pay a 400 fee to cancel and that is because you hung up on us weeks ago.  I looked at my phone log I called them 36 times over two months.  Their method is to put you on hold till you give up and I do after being on hold for over ten minutes.  When I told this Indian guy that; I got a reading of the cancelation policy.  To, late to cancel you hung up and now you have to pay us 400 dollars to cancel and eat the installation fees and pay someone 360 dollars to remove the antenna, or do it yourself.  I am 65 years old with bad knees and my husband has a crushed disk in his back with no feeling on one foot.  Basicly screw you we got you now.  Seems they are used to this happening. 

My advise is to run from this company.  Total rip off.  

I called Chase card services and deigned the charges on the basis that they are not providing the services that they advertise.  I am sure that this well be a fight.
