I purchased a Line 6 Power Cab 112 brand new in February 2024 for $450.00. The unit worked for approx 2 weeks and then died. In looking at the internet complaints, the problem I had was a factory defect issue that hundreds of people who purchased the unit were also experiencing.
I reached out to Line 6 customer service and they gave me the name of the closest repair shop to take the unit, whoich was Cooks Instrument Repair in Covington KY. I took the unit to Cooks Repair. They verified that this was similar to the issues they have been seeing with the Line 6 Power Cabs.
After approx 2 weeks, Cooks called me back to state that Line 6 is refusing to honor the warranty because the unit was not purchased from an authorized dealer. They advised the cost of the repair would exceed $400.
So even though the sales receipt stated the unit was "Brand New" and even though I paid retail price for the unit, and even though the defect was a known factory issue, Line 6 refused to stand behind their defective product.
So they left me with a $450.00 pile of junk that can not be used. To give you an idea of how new this unit was, while the unit was open a tag with the build date was stamped "September 2023".
I have other Line 6 products, and all have had quality issues. I was also stuck with 2 defective wireless guitar units that either continually cut out and lost signal (Relay G10s) or had defective transmitters (Relay G10).
Their decision to fall back on "policy" versus the "right thing to do" clearly shows how Yamaha has went downhill. Even though the unit was brand new in a box with a sales receipt that clearly stated unit was brand new from the seller and even though the repair shop validated this was a quality issue with their amp, they conveniently opted not to stand behind their product.
I will never buy another Yamaha or Line 6 product again and will make sure I get my $450 lost back through sharing my stories on as many forums as possible of their poor customer service.

The receipt clearly stated the item was brand new. Please do not insult me by trying to state the unit was in any other condition, as you do not have the facts to be stating the unit fell off the back of a truck or was used. It was simply not true. The repair facility also clearly stated defect was a known issue from Line 6. I realize you are getting many returns related to quality issues with your products, but taking the cheap way out because you found a loop hole may have saved you from having to repair my purchase, but in the process you lost a customer for life who will carry around a negative referral of Line 6 and Yamaha products for life. If Line 6 had actually allowed the unit to be examined, they would have realized it was their defect. They also would have seen that this unit was never registered by anyone other than myself.
As for validation of their quality, simply Google Line 6 qaulity issues and you will find a pleathora of complaints all over the internet. This is now my 3rd failed Line 6 product. Caveat Emptor certainly applies to Line 6.

For you to make a warranty claim, you first have to have a warranty. Almost all warranties require that you buy the item new from a store. They don't apply to used items, items bought from auction sites, returns, refurbs, overstock, etc. I seriously doubt there is any company out there who would honor the warranty on something you bought from an auction site. For all they know, this unit fell off the back of a truck or was stolen, or was returned because it was defective. In any case, they very likely did not get paid for it. As to how much you paid, that's kind of on you. Just because you paid the brand-new price for a previously sold item without a valid warranty doesn't obligate the manufacturer to honor said voided warranty.
