Wells Fargo blocked legitimate payments, charged illegal interest, and refused to correct their errors despite multiple complaints. Sioux Falls South Dakota

In July 2025, Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. began blocking my legitimate payments from a valid U.S. bank account without any lawful reason. On July 31, 2025, during my sixth attempt to pay, I was subjected to a ~50-minute call with repeated disconnections, endless transfers, and contradictory instructions designed to prevent payment.

Wells Fargo representatives made false statements about required documentation and prior call records, refused to promptly explain why payments weren’t accepted, and delayed for over two months — long enough to trigger interest and hidden fees. They also locked me out of online banking and rejected valid ID (the same ID used to open my account), trapping me in a “document loop” they knew I could not fulfill.

This conduct violates:

• N.Y. General Business Law § 349 — deceptive and unfair business practices.

• 12 C.F.R. § 1026.10 (Regulation Z) — requiring crediting of conforming payments the day they are received and prohibiting unnecessary payment fees.

• 15 U.S.C. § 1637 — requiring clear, non-misleading disclosure of finance charges and fees.

I attempted resolution through multiple calls and written complaints. Instead of fixing the problem, Wells Fargo continued adding unlawful interest and fees. These actions appear to be a deliberate barrier to payment to trigger default, late fees, and interest accrual — potentially predatory conduct.
