I ordered my camera online on Saturday, 1/12/08. I responded to an email that said to call (number and extention was given) regarding a problem with my order. After the second call, I reached someone. They said that they had the year of my credit card but not the month and was not able to process the order. I said, "that's very weird." I gave them the month again and he "was know processing the order." I began to feel very strange about the whole "missing month" thing. As I was on the phone with him I decided to Google the company, "86 Street Photo and Video fraud". The first two hits were complaints that read very similar to each other (I just did a quick glance and the sales person was talking). Fortunately, I read enough to say no to everything. They were trying to sell me some additional stuff. I told them I had already done my research and I was aware of those issues and that I found better prices for the items he was offering, so I respectfully declined. By-the-way, it was true...I had researched the other items and found better prices for accessories. The guy was nice and didn't pressure me and I quickly got off the phone. I thought, "wow, that was easy. I lucked out." Seconds later, I receive an email from 86 Street Photo and Video informing me that my order was on "back order" and it included instructions on how to cancel my order if I wished to do so without charges to my credit card. I could hardly respond quick enough to them saying "CANCEL ORDER # --------"!!! I just didn't want to go through the headaches that many other have gone through with this company. No camera is worth that!!!
