I have used ADT for 2 years now. We use to have a rental and my husband's company paid for a security system due to hubby's job.

They installed at rental and everything was good. Hubby's job wanted him to get a wireless backup (cell backup) They came back out and installed that. That time the bill came up to $1200. Hubby's companys credit card paid for that.

Now, we decided to move to a brand new house. Hubby's company tells him to find a new security company or find out why hubby's bill is so high....the company was being charged over $150 every month.

ADT says they will fix it. Hubby wanted to remove security stuff from the rental b/c it was already paid for. ADT said that was okay.

A salesman came over and walked through with hubby.

A couple of days later, the installer came. He was here from 8am until 3:30 installing in a brand new house. He drilled holes behind my dryer vent and came across the room and drilled a hole in my laundry room floor to lead down to the basement. WTF????? You should see the mess he left coming into the house with wires and at the power box...it looks terrible. He didn't even put the covers back on the security system.

He was on the phone for about 3 hours total taking care of personal business. Maybe something was wrong and he couldn't focus on his job?????I don't know.

Anyway, hubby came home the next day (he works out of town) and he was very mad with the terrible job they did running the wire. Oh yeah, the installer said that our cell stuff didn't work anymore so we needed to fork some more money out on a new one. What? This one was brand new.

Hubby called main office. The sales guy and the regional mgr came to my house to do a walk through. Even the mgr. said that it was crappy workmanship.

He said they were gonna replace everything. That's been over 3 weeks ago. They don't return phone calls. When I finally got a hold of someone...I was asked if it would be okay to send the same installer out. One more thing....where the guy put the key pad...if I ever have to remove it...I have a hole about the size of a huge man's fist. Also a huge hole by my dryer and on my floor. No caulk was put around anything. You should even see the spliced wires this guy didn't even wrap up.

I would think twice about using this company again. As soon as our contract is up, we are going with someone local.

Bad tech

First of all, if you didn't want wires going everywhere you should have gotten the wireless system. Secondly, that monthly fee his company if complaining about is the monitoring charge. Thirdly, how do you think security systems are installed? Do you think we just glue the panel to your wall? It was your salesman responsability to inform you of the drilling. They know better. Lastly, don't blame a whole company on one bad tech. Call the local office and speak to the techs manager about his poor install job. How would you like me to give your family a bad name just because one of your distant relatives went to jail or something? Try to solve your problem locally before you go around bashing the company as a whole.

ADT finally came back out and fixed the crappy workmanship done. I took a few weeks of calling back and forth but they resolved the problem. They did replace his wireless backup for free due to the worker breaking it.

I still have the huge hole behind my keypad that will have to be fixed if keypad is ever moved. I still have the hole by my dryer vent but the did put caulk on it.
