Alamo Car Rental Green Bay Wiscinsin Alamo Car Rental Scam's Continue $921 "Scuff" on a bumper Green Bay, Wisconsin

I rented a car from Alamo Car Rental in Green Bay at the airport.  All went fine for the rental - did a walk around and checked the existing sheet for pre-existing damage.  The sheet matched what I saw.  Clear mark on the rear passenger door - white ding clearly an issue on a dark blue car and a small ding on the back bumper.   

Returned the car in the same condition from when I picked it up - actually better.  My daugher in law always washes rental equipment prior to return to make sure there are no issues.  No one identified any problems or additional dings even in checking closely with the wash.

However 2 days after returning the car I received a call from someone at "PurCo" asking if I had damaged the car - there was a report of damage to the car.  "No, there was No damage to the car when it was off." - no telling what was done to it since then.  No one checked the car upon return to the lot.  No indication of any issues.  No call or communication from Alamo of any problems until 3 days after returning the car.  I finally received a letter communiction that I had 2 days to have the car evaluated and get a quote.  I sent my son to check within 2 days so that we could take pictures and see for ourselves what this claim was about but upon inquiring at the counter the car was gone.  Apparently sent to Oconto but certainly NOT available for evaluation or obtaining any quotes to address a "Scuff under the bumper." 

I then received a claim for $921 from PurCo with a big list of repair work supposedly needed to fix the "scuff" that I have never seen evidence of.  No photos of the supposed damage were provided by anyone.  And when we went to evaluate it the vehicule was "gone" and not available.  Even though I am supposed to have 2 days to evaluate.  One report said "passenger side" another shows a mark on a diagram on the drivers side - not even their stories are consistent.

I'm sure Alamo thought they had an easy mark since I personally live out of the area and didn't think they actually needed to retain the vehicle available for my family to come and look at it - regardless of what was stated in the letter.

Such a total scam from what I thought was a reputable national company.  $921 for an unsubstianted "scuff" on a bumper.

WARNING to all - take video tape of your unit before and after rentals and include the odometer reading before you leave the car or you will have to fight the scammers.
