Alamo Car Rental Forced 'Ripoff ' Car Rental Miami, Florida

I am a British visitor to Florida and have been travelling to the USA for 32 years.

I always book through Virging Holidays in the UK and in my package booking, book and pay for an 'All Inclusive' Economy rental car before travelling to the USA.

I pre-registered for check-in via the internet with Alamo to make my time in Miami Airport as short as possible, having been travelling for over 15 hours.

When I arrived I presented my pre-reg documents at the desk and they printed out a form and said 'Sign Here'!

Thinking it was as booked, I signed. I was then told to go the the car port by Shuttle Train.

When I arrived I was shown to a Toyota Yaris, which is a small economy car with 4 doors and air con. This is just like the Economy model Aveo. The only difference being one is made in the USA and the Other in Japan.

I was not shown to the Aveo as it was allocated, so my only choice was the Toyota.

I now find that they class this vehicle as a 'compact' so charged $390.36/248.94 against my credit card.

This is just another 'Ripoff by Alamo' on tired travellers, who do not know they have forced an upgrade.

I had no choice to choose the Aveo as it was taken.

Beware - Do not be conned by this as I should have been given what I pre-booked. Alamo are ripping off so many people it is dispicable.

I will never book with them again and will watch every other rental company like a hawk and will not pay a cent more.
