Alltel Wireless Ripoff Very poor service Ocala Florida

I have contacted Alltel Wireless about the very poor cellular service. They have blamed everything including the FCC. I even offered to pay for an upgraded/better phone to try to help the problem. They told me that Due to FCC regulations they could not sell me a new phone until my contract was over in September 2006.

They tell me there is no problem in this area and on different occasions the have told me there is a tower about 3 miles away from my main location another time they told me it was 6 miles away.

I have requested to speak to a manager on at least 6 different occasions. Each time I was told there was no manager available and the manager would contact within 24-48 hours. To this day I still have received no calls. (of course it could be that my phone is always searching for service.) To make it even worse I don't even receive notification when I have voice mail waiting.

They have told me they are providing me the service they are required to and that my phone was the problem and since Audiovox makes the phone this is not Alltel's problem even though they sold it to me and it is "insured" through them. I'm not sure what they meant, but this is the 3rd phone (of the same type, the Audiovox piece of junk covered under the insurance plan).

To this day this is unresolved. I have filed a complaint with the FCC, since according to Alltel they regulate: my service, My contract with Alltel, My Rates, My cancellation fee, and my poor service provided by Alltel.

I hope this is resolved soon. Just be warned If you work, live, or drive down the SR200 corridor in SW Ocala and you have an emergency you better hope you not trusting Alltel's cellular service with your family's life or safety. You will regret the day you signed up with Alltel!

If you have had the same or similar problems I would like to hear from you since according to Alltel I'm the only person complaining about poor reception. As a side note I also get a dead area on the Turnpike from where it meets I-75 for about 10 miles South of I-75
