American Home Sheild (AHS) Poor AC Coverage/Service Nationwide

We have owned our home in Texas since 2007, we purchased AHS from day one to cover expenses of any required repairs. We have had issues with our AC from the 1rst year and every year since. This year we have been without AC for weeks at a time. AHS had sent out a company in May who replaced the coil in our attic, We had to pay numerous out of pocket expenses. AHS covers $10 per pound of freon, but their contractors charge $50 per pound. Now the compressor went out, we were told by another contractor they (AHS) sent to us that the coil placed in May of this year did not match the outside compressor. So now the compressor needs to be repaired, but without upgrading the coil thsy state this will just happen again. Also approx 13 pound of freon will be required at our expense. 13x $40=$520 plus service fee $75. We have been without AC for 4 days, the internal temp of my home is 90-100 degrees. When I asked for assitance due to my wife being ill they offered us a fan. They use an administrative run around to not address the claim in a timely manner. We have called Numerous times, and are told nothing can be done until the contracter makes a report. He told my wife what I am printing here, I called them and explained. They said not official until a report is filed. Now we are being told there is a $1500 cap to service. (I have paid them approx $5,000 plus survice fees and uncovered issues associated with my AC over the last nine years. As a Veteran Honor and Integrety are words I live buy. This company is truly a Rip Off. I'm sure they make lots of money for their investors. But they DO NOT do what they claim for the average customer. Put your money in the bank, pay your own repairs, this company is not here to provide service, just to take your money!!!
