I wish to withdraw from AIU Online immediately. I have not received any books, started any classes or delegated any funds towards any classes or materials. I have spent the last several hours reading page upon page, post upon post of valid complaints against AIU and their poor business practices.
I understand that not only are they not accredited (on probation), but they are also being investigated by the DOJ. I found that the advisors pressure people so much because they are bound to a "quota" for enrolling students or they will be fired. Also, that certain people in the upper management divisions of admissions get paid stock interest payments.
When you told me yesterday that they had placed a hold on my books over a $2100 loan (that I am already approved for), it reaffirmed the suspicion I had that AIU and its employees do not care about the student. Most colleges don't call and hound people day after day and constantly pressure them into taking the "immediate" steps needed to join so quickly.
They only care about the money. Of course there were rebuttal threads on the website I was on, but after reading page after page of BBB, FTC and consumer reports that reflected AIU and its parent company CEC in a very poor light, it was enough for me to make this decision. It's funny how everyone who takes the challenge exams fails. because if they pass, the school gets less money for the credits that are awarded. Imagine that! Also, I'm fully aware of the high interest rate loan that I am being pressured into taking through Sallie Mae.
This company obviously has major flaws especially in their abilities to confirm identity. Thank God I found these posts online. and I had to look pretty hard to find them. These people just saved me thousands of wasted dollars for a worthless degree from a non-accredited, self serving, money grubbing, slimeball institution such as the one you are employed by.
