Um,... i had a sales rep for AMP come to my door today, and without introducing himself or who he was with or what he was doing on my porch, began to ask me questions about my neighborhood and solicit me to post a sign in my yard. Claimed i'd be "paid" if I posted a sign in my yard. Payment was $1200 in alarm equipment made by Honeywell. He kept glancing over his shoulder and looked nervous, and then proceeded to ask " Do you live here alone?" This a most inappropriate question to ask. I quickly cut him off without answering the question and told him i didn't appreciate him on my porch without his introduction and company name. All he said was, " oh, sorry, i'm with AMP..." (flipped his badge over real quick and back again) And then i asked who AMP was and he stated " Just a distribution company for Honeywell" He had originally stated that neither of my neighbors on the end of the block were home and that is where they prefer to post signs, (giving only 2 people the opportunity for "payment") But later proceeded to tell me that if i changed my mind to look for the sign at my neighbor house (whom wasn't home), because he was getting one.

Certainly suspicious. He didn't offer a card or even product information.

...Maybe i should report him to the police???

AMP alarm system

AUTHOR: Jana - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, April 26, 2010

I have an AMP alarm system. The system works really good, never failed comparing to ADT, who seems to be in trouble right now..:). I had problems with AMP customer service in the past, but it seems they are getting a better training or some individuals are being replaced with more qualified sales people. Chelsey Ellison helped me a lot to resolve my problems with AMP and I'm actually satisfied what she had done for me. I would recommend working with her if anyone has any problems or not happy with AMP alarm system.

AMP Alarm Customer Advocate Response

AUTHOR: Chelsey Ellison | AMP Customer Advo - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, February 27, 2010

My name is Chelsey Ellison. I am the Customer Advocate at AMP Alarm. I want to apologize for your experience with one of our Representatives. We train our Representatives to have a positive interaction with all potential customers and it appears as though he may have been a little nervous. However, I can assure you that AMP Alarm has the necessary licenses for all our Representatives in the areas they are in.

I want to give you some advice in case you come across this situation with our company or any other company in the future. Authorized Representatives that are out in the community should have a name tag. Make sure to look for this. Also, make sure to get the name of the Representative you have spoken with. If you are still feeling uneasy, call the company that he is claiming to work for. They will be able to verify with you that he is indeed a part of their company and hopefully put your mind at ease.

Thank you for informing me of this situation. It is very much appreciated.
If you would like more information about our company at any time please feel free to call our Customer Service at 800-817-3918.
Good luck to you in the future!
