My bank account was charged $48.79. My bank told me to call the 800-272-0496 number that was listed on my statement.

When I finally got through I reached a customer service agent that said she would cancel my account and refund my money sometime in the next three weeks.

I explained to them that I didn't have an account and had never heard of them or given them my credit card number. She refused to give me any names other than to say they were U.S. Phone.

I don't know who that is, but they have agreed to refund my money so I don't care.

I hope this phone number will help someone else in this situation.

The Connection

AUTHOR: George - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, May 07, 2002

I just filed a Rip off on Amr Long Distance. I noticed the connection from thos report. The phone number for Amr Long Distance is the same as US Phone. My card information was given to US Phone by TIGER DIRECT Computer. They said I gave them permision to give my Account info, which included my Credit card Number, during the process of buying something from them, and in the giving of my info for shipping I supposedly check a box giving them PERMISSION to sell my card number info.

This US PHONE could be your link also.
