Stay Away from Aspen Dental!
In 2008 I went To Aspen Dental. I need a lot of work root canals, couple bridges filings, that what they have told me.
They did X-rays and exam. Estimate they prepare show that after insurance I have to pay $3000.00 out of packet. I have applied for CARE CREDIT biggest mistake ever. They transfer all the money from Care Credit to their account that same day I apply for it, without my permission.

They charge Care Credit in advance for work before it was done base on estimate. In other words they charge for services not rendered.
I have find out that after I have root canals done they charge $1500.00 for one!!

Normal price is around 800.00. After explanation of benefits from may insurance I pay out of packet $330.00 for one. But they refuse to give me credit back, because I have root scaling and planning cleaning done before root canals, that insurance dont pay for yet.
Cleaning is cover in 100% they charge extra $45.00 for something that I dont need and is not cover by insurance. They give me electric toothbrush as part of the visit they dont ask if I like to purchase that item. They charge $125.00 for it.

I fight to get my money back for month, they refuse to cooperate. They told me that no credit will be posted until they receive all payments from insurance.
Office manager lie to me from beginning she prepare estimates, she transfer many from Care Credit to Aspen Account. Toothbrush was send back I dont se any credit for it also. After few meting with her she was very nasty I have to contact corp. office they been unhelpful either.

Stay away from Aspen Dental anywhere on the globe. They dont know what it means customer service.

My dental HMO, Cigna, has very few options for dentists so I am stuck with Aspen until I can change my coverage in November.

I went in - I wanted a cleaning. But they would not provide it. They needed to do a "periodic exam". Lo and behold, I have several cavities, need a 12 month old crown replaced, have periodontal disease, etc. They give me a "treatment plan" and tell me I have great insurance which will cover most of my treatment. So I'm thinking I shell out one or two hundred bucks. However, the total is about $4000 with my share at about $1800.

I told them I need to call them back - I don't want to schedule anything. Looking at the treatment plan, they have included non-covered items at inflated prices, such as a $50 flouride rinse and a tube of toothpaste that is somehow worth about $30. They did not ask me what kind of fillings I wanted - they included the most expensive composite ones.

The whole operation feels like a used-car dealership. It pains me to know that the majority of their clientele are lower-income people without a lot of education who end up getting shafted without even realizing it. It's just like Rent-A-Center for your mouth. Ugh. I don't know how dentists who take the Hippocratic Oath can work at a place like this and sleep at night.

The next time you are told you need a 'lot of work' etc., leave to 'think it over'.

Then visit another provider to get a second opinion [without saying WHY you are visiting that second provider] and have the second provider provide an appraisal of your situation. Then compare the two stories. Root canals, for example, are not fun and the tooth will then be dead and will likely need a crown because dead teeth tend to be brittle.

You should investigate services like Care Credit before you make any commitments to understand what you are walking into. Right now, you will have a lot of trouble walking back out. Haste makes waste.
