Assurance Wireless Takes Your Money Internet
*General Comment: Assurance Wireless rips you off everytime you pay online
If you go on the pay as you go plan and do not use your phone for 30 days, Assurance Wireless will take the money in your account and put it into their pocket. Instead of that, they should send it back to the credit card used to fund the account. They did this three times. The last time I topped up $10 and after 30 days of non use, closed my account again. Does it not seem I would have not topped up my account for the to steal.

Assurance Wireless rips you off everytime you pay online

Here are the facts: through Virgin Mobile website, Assurance Wireless (or VM, what do I know?) sells add-ons to their monthly lifeline services starting from $5. At the checkout you are billed $6.38. That’s a 27.6% tax rate. I don’t know anywhere in the country where we pay this kind of tax rate. I called their customer service # and I was told that the tax amount comprises a $1 surcharge I don’t remember what it is for.
Nonetheless the online receipt you get has 2 lines: it mentions a sale for $5 and taxes for $1.38. So with all due respect this is flagrant unacceptable: how do I pay 27.6% as a sale tax????? This has been going on since mid-2015. I used to pay $.38 in sale tax on a $5 purchase.
Now if you go to any store in the country and you purchase any Virgin Mobile reload card, there is never a fee. You only pay the face value of the card. Somebody has to explain to us all these shenanigans.
I have receipts to prove all these fraudulent activities. Unfortunately sensitive information are also shown on the online receipts, hence I can’t upload them right now but if someone wants proof I’ll 100% show them. The numbers are what they are and both companies are colluding against consumers.
