I have paid Asurion for insurance in good faith since about 2003 through Verizon. My I phone 6S got wet in January 2018. I visited Verizon in the Woodlands Mall Texas. Verizon promised me next day service. Asurion stated that they were closed during the evening so my paperwork could not be reviewed and that next day service would be 2 day service. Their phone messaging was not customer friendly. it was threatening. They warned that I would be prosecuted if I provided incorrect information. Not a good way to do business.

I completed all required paperwork and received my "refurbished" phone. The battery was shot. I would not last more than 4 or 5 hours with normal use. After a few days, I lost a call and the phone continually reported "searching". I went to Verizon, they told me the phone was broken. Verizon called Asurion and I was promised another "refurbished" phone. I said "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me! refund  me my 200 dollar deductible that you charged for a broken phone and I will buy a new IPhone. I cannot afford to waste my time waiting on another broken phone".

The individual I was talking to could not authorize a free return envelope so he escalated. then I was cut off. I had to call back again and listen to the same disgusting threatening message. I was promised a $200 refund and a return envelope by Tuesday or Wednesday of the following week.

It is now Thursday. No refund and no envelope, so I called Asurion. Enya told me that I would not get a refund until I returned the broken phone. I asked for a refund on my past insurance payments which were for nothing. She said I would have to take it up with Verizon!

I called Verizon. They were horrified and offered me back 3 months payments which amounted to about 72 dollars. I said I wanted enough of a refund to pay for the IPhone 8 that I just purchased since Asurion instead sent me a broken IPhone 6S. Verizon stated they would get me in contact with an Asurion agent who had authority to help.

Heather(1410488) then got on the phone. She said that they had already received my the broken phone that Asurion sent me and that she could authorize a $200 refund! I told her that she had incorrect information! Asurion sends broken phones! Asurion thinks they received phones which they hadn't! I told her that I wanted her to refund some of the thousands that I has sent to Asurion since they sent me a broken phone. She said she was not authorized to refund anything but could send me a brand new phone! I said "too late, why wasn't I offered that when I called from the Verizon store!" I told her I was not willing to take any more chances with Asurion and bought an IPhone 8 from Verizon already, and did not need another phone, I needed an insurance refund.I asked Heather to speak with someone who was authorized to refund money spent in good faith. She transferred me to Mark (125183) .

Mark‘s 1st words were something akin to, "Mr Whelan, we understand that you brought your Asurion IPhone to a 3rd party for repair" . Looking to weasel out of it all by getting me to admit a violation of contract! How Cheesy. I had to point out that now Anya from Plano, Heather and He all provided me with incorrect information. What kind of organization is this???!! Mark then told me that he didn't have the authority to refund any money to me. Ahhhhhhhghhhhh! I spent 1.5 hours on the phone between Anya, Verizon, on hold, Heather, on hold, and Mark. And no one has any authority. I told Mark and Heather both that I would tell people the truth about Asurion and that their refusal to refund money was bad business as the truth would cost them 10's if not 100's of thousands of dollars in lost revenue. I will not lie , I will just share my experience. I paid lots of money in good faith and got a broken phone and no compensation! When I called Asurion to explain the 1st time, no one promised to make it right by sending a new iPhone 6s! That  People need to be protected from Asurion.

I have paid thousands of dollars to Asurion in good faith. they then charged me $200 for a broken Iphone on top of the thousands I have already paid them! I could have bought a working one on ebay or gazelle for 2-3 hundred and not paid any insurance! I would like Asurion to refund $800 dollars of the thousands that I have paid to them to pay for my Iphone 8. I also want my $200 deductable back that I sent for the broken phone they sent me! They can keep the wet phone that I sent them. I would like a total of $1000 back from Asurion.
