The whole thing started simply with a sales person coming by offering us 30-day trial of the AT&T U-Verse. We could go back to DirectTV (which thus far has been golden, we just like the upgraded I-Net.) We agreed and off we went into the AT&T Black hole, of course after having to hand over our SSN, and without them asking us if we even owned the house, that's Right, AT&T just installs without any prior permissions.

While setting up the service the Technician was acting flaky and wouldn't answer any questions to what he was doing (DirectTV and Brighthouse both offered helpful support for the local techno weeny), And didn't come to find that he had not "set up" the house for a 30-Day Trial, more on that in a minute.

We called back to AT&T deciding we didn't want the service, we heard we owe'd $175 in fee's, We declared with quite a voice that we were not going to pay for a "free trial" that we could go back with our previous group, without any incident. That of course wasn't the end of it, we wanted to keep the i-net, it is quite good even with a 6 mbps cap.

We requested if a Technician could come out and help us move the Giant (12 in. x 7 in. x 3 in.) box downstairs. At this point, the tech told us that the move, a whole whopping 25 ft. would cost $150 to simply shift the box downstairs and that he would have to re-pull cable, and re-terminate the lines so that we could go back to a service we were told we could go back to for FREE! The tech this time was atleast helpful and pointed out how I might be able to get our system back online for free to the previous system, but should have still been done in the first place.

We of course got the "the line needed to go upstairs" which is actually bull compared to the fact that the line degredation in our downstairs is better then upstairs(less line, less noise, newer cables)

At this point, we have no TV, and only internet, which according to my last 3 speed scans has actually been slowed down because we shut down the AT&T U-Verse Cable component. I have become quite infurriated at what was supposed to be a simple 30-day Trial, that would allow us to switch back with no trouble, and no assumed payments. All I have to say at this point, is watch out, the U-Verse is doomed to suck itself in on itself, and I will probably continue trying to send people away from this horrible service, the i-net is great, until you decide to turn off the TV, then they want nothing to do with you, it is either all or nothing.

I leave this as a final warning, I will not change my mind about how screwed up and pointless this service is, even if contacted, but I would like to be contacted if you have any further information on how I can get this bull fixed without any of my or a poor D-TV tech walking into a trap, and fix what should have been fixed for free. I'm watching out for the sending in the boxes, because I have heard bad stuff about that. Buyer beware on many many levels!
